WTAH (WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL) has been a prayer that I have relied on for the last 14months. Covid-19 had changed everything...
My identity- DESTROYED
My faith- CHALLENGED
My physical body- RACKED
My family- TERRIFIED
My job- TERMINATED
My anxiety- CEASELESS
My Purpose- QUESTIONED
…thank you Universe!
Wait, what?
WTAH! What about.....
~the darkness of my room where I sit monitoring my husband's breathing
~the determination that I "Nurse" my family to health to avoid hospitalization
~the terrified, sadness that my College-kid could not come home because we were sick and quarantined
~the shower where I lay and assess my heartrate is 170 and it is time to seek care
~the remembering that people who were hospitalized weren't coming out
~the panic/anxiety about not being able to get "back to work"
~the fight to quantify mental health struggles as a valid health issues
~my soul's insistent calling to help my courageous, selfless tribe of Nurses survive this war...WTAH??
So, obviously, I survived. (YAY God!) As well, a few other changes occurred:
My identity- REEVALUATED (moment by moment)
My Faith- SURRENDERED
My physical body- HEALING
My family- RESTRUCTURED
My job- ALIGNED
My anxiety- ADDRESSED
My Purpose- RENEWED
…thank you Universe!
You see, MY breakdown was my breakthrough, I was sat down to be set up!
The life that I insisted was happening TO ME, (PLOT TWIST) was happening FOR ME, and now is happening THROUGH ME.
WELLNESS IS A SKILL, requiring goals, grit and whole lot of fucking grace!!
Which leads me to my BIG SCARY FUCKING GOAL-
Change healthcare by empowering the nurses to model wellness, fulfillment, and connection.
Our present model of healthcare is in desperate need of disruption. Nurses are perfectly poised to unleash a powerful, transformative force of good upon the world. Let's shine our light in the shadows, let's start with US.
If we don't care for each other, the healthcare system WILL collapse. Mark my words, the cracks are showing.
HEALTH is the new WEALTH!
WTAHealth has become my new mantra.
Nursing coaching is my circus, nurses are my Tribe!
